Pee Man Cave - History about our ancestors

Few day ago, I went to Pang Ma Phar District in Mae Hong Sorn for sign-seeing. There is an interesting attraction cave which name is Tam Nam Rod. We need to walk around 500 meter and use bamboo raft through the cave.

Inside the cave, there is beautiful stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient coffin which a highlight call "Pee Man".

I did a small research about the history of the coffin. It is approximately 3000 year olds, and made from hardwood which were dig like a box to keep ancestors body, and their tools such as hunting, weaving and cooking devices. On the topside, it was carved look like geometry that show us about social class of the body or their family tree.

However, some local people still believe about ghost, curse, and the belief in the world after death that is a similar with ancient Egypt. Moreover, archaeologists found many similarly wood funeral culture around the upper north of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and the south of China. Therefore, They believe that we came from the same ancestors.

Accordingly, I would like to present Thai exciting travelling spot in Pang Ma Phar to your guy. If you have a chance to Mae Hong Sorn, I warn you do not miss to explore Tam Nam Rod cave. Thank you for read my story :)
