The chart provides information about the highest education of gender groups which Wales working age completed during 2001/2002.
It can be immediately seen from the data that the two greatest number were GCE A level and GCSE grade A*-C. For GCE A level, the percentage of males was much difference with the percentage of females that made up around 28 per cent and 15 per cent respectively. Likewise, there were a significant gap between the percentage of women who obtained GCSE grade A*-C comprised about 29 per cent, and the percentage of men who did so approximately 19 per cent.
Another striking feature is that the other categories were a smaller difference between both genders. Regarding no qualifications, the proportion of women was a slight higher than the proportion of men (about 23 per cent and 20 per cent respectively). For the degree and other qualifications, there were a similar approximately 12 per cent of women and about 11 per cent of men. Lastly, the percentage of females marginally higher that the percentage of males, with about 9% and 8% respectively.
